How is it passed on?

Through unprotected vaginal or anal sex and direct contact with the infected area.


Small bumps or warts around the penis or vagina. They can also be found inside the vagina.

What are the long term effects?

The virus that causes warts has been linked to cervical cancer (cancer of the neck of the womb), however not every wart virus can cause cancer but it is always best to get checked out.

Can you get rid of it?

Warts can be difficult to get rid of. Lotions can be used or sometimes the wart has to burnt or frozen off.
